Kelun's Adventure in Wenchuan

On May 24, 2008, Kelun’s Jilin and Beijing affiliates organized a special team to help rescue and relief work in Sichuan Province. Companied by a supervising team with Ministry of Health, the special team forwarded trucks of succor materials to medical assistance team with Jilin Ministry of Health in Wenchuan. At 16:20, May 25, the team encountered a 6.4-magnitude after-shake 7 miles from Wenchuan. Large area of landslide occurred with overwhelming dusty clouds. It was hard to choose whether to stay till or drive away. Hesitation only lasted for a few seconds when Jilin’s manager Xue Weigang rushed through the dusty area with car No. 1 intact. Slungshots hit the windshield of car No. 2 driven by Ding bo, and car No. 3 driven by Wu Ran was pounded on the place between windshield and louver, with louver smashed, windshield damaged and body severely distorted. The team finally escaped from the dangerous area without casualties. When they looked back, the place where they stood still for a few seconds was overwhelmed with mudflows.

On their way back to Chengdu on May 26, Manager Xue received a call form Minister Hou with Jilin Ministry of Health, who required the special team to assist Jilin Epidemic Prevention Detachment. Even though the team felt exhausted and vehicles damaged, they still decided to go back to Ma'erkang to purchase materials for the detachment. At 17: 50, the team finally arrived at the county hospital where the detachment resided.

On May 27, the team went back to Chengdu safely by way of Luding and Ya'an. In the headquarters for Kelun's quake-relief work, they received warm welcome by all the staffs there. President Liu Gexin greeted them one by one and took photo with Kelun's chariots who experienced so many hardships with our warriors.
